I got this because I wanted a unit that is PFOA and PTFE - free. This fits the bill. I am in the Middle East and I had to import it from Germany, and it cost me well over 200 dollars to do so, but it was still worth it. It's a smart addition to your kitchen appliances range. It's also quiet and classy and the app is probably unnecessary but it's a nice plus. I also got fantastic pre-sales customer service from Jennie.

Ready for a long read? I was really not sold on the whole concept of air fryers and their "family hype" for years and years now. I mean, we already have a convection oven - why the hell would we need the same thing, only much louder, harder to maintain, less practical, etc.? Turns out I was wrong on so many accounts, at least with this product.

I mean, nowadays we use the dome 2 so often it has a permanent place in our kitchen; and unlike so many other air fryers at friend's or family, this one definitely has advantages that dwarf virtually any of the complaints we might have.

First of all - compared to the godawful noise of virtually every other air fryers, this one has a huge fan inside, creating almost like a low humming white noise that you can easily ignore and just do your thing in the kitchen. It is rather comparable to the hum you may hear from your grown-up convection oven, rather than a mixer-like noise you hear with other devices.

Surface area available just plays a huge role, and was something I was annoyed with any other designs of the air fryers. Even when we didn't bother flipping chips (fries) or bbq wings inside the Dome 2, they still turned out marvelously crispy everywhere - all thanks to the double heater, a large fan, and enormous surface area available. Air simply cannot circulate as well in vertically stacked devices, and they need constant shaking, mixing, etc.

Combining this air fryer with the typhur temperature probes we purchased a while back meant that we could even make amazing breaded chicken breast which was both crunchy and not overcooked on the inside! I hate apps and IoT devices with the energy of a thousand suns, but local use of both is possible, and this combination actually provides some usefulness!

The ceramic coating of the basket, while early to say, seems rather durable, and easy to maintain. A soft sponge, a drop of light detergent - and the cleanup is done in a literal minute.

Now, for some bad things. The basket insert is...just too flimsy for my taste. It arrived slightly curved/bent in the basket itself, and we noticed we can deform its shape almost just by looking at it wrongly, let alone putting heavier stuff on it. Perhaps this is intended by design somehow, but it is like that.

We also wish the included power cord was slightly longer, as it would enable us to use the unit on the kitchen island, rather than in a corner of a kitchen workbench. It is a large device overall - but is NOT as tall as other air fryers, so it fits under the shelves easily.

For now - Dome 2 gets highly, highly recommended, especialy for folks like us who doubted air fryer usefulness and practicality. Just bear in mind that the surface area it takes is large - even though that comes packaged with a number of advantages compared to any other fryer on the market.

This is the best kitchen product ever, I think I got you 3 more customers after all the word of mouth that I’ve just done. The only feature this guy is missing is an inside spy camera to see how crispy your food is without opening and losing temp. But that’s way too futuristic
